METEX Intern
Recruited by METEX as an interior design intern in Istanbul to assist with a large scale project. Amalgamating with Arup Group, the two companies designed the Hilton Congress Centre in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Above the experience of designing in a live enviroment, what I enjoyed the most was translating my ideas through paper and CAD. In some instances, Google Translate was required. However for the most part, we sketched to each other what we were thinking. Below are the final renders of my design.

I began researching Uzbek Cultures and patterns being careful not to conflict with surrounding countries imagery. Sensitive to this, I designed a modern take on a traditional themes for the carpets and revived an old motif for the wall panels either side of the stage. Blue and gold are the prominent colours in Uzbek culture so I endeavoured to centre my proposal around this pallet. My design was later taken forward to construction. While interning, I also Provided administrative work between the two practices (Istanbul to New York), to ensure transparent correspondence and seamless work flow.
